wealthy stepfather Stuart. Kim manages to convince her reluctant father to allow her to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. When the girls arrive in Paris they share a cab with a stranger named Peter, and Amanda lets is slip that they are alone in Paris. Using this Information an Albanian gang of human traffickers kidnaps the girls. Kim barley has time to call her father and give him informations. Her father gets to speak briefly to one of the kidnappers and he promised to kill the kidnappers if they do not let his daughter go. The Kidnapper wishes him "good luck". So  Bryan Mills travels to paris so search his daughter and her friend.

And Liam Nesson was always one of my favorite actors.

Shutter Island

Shutter Island is on the second place. Its an American psychological thriller directed by Martin Scorsese.
Storyline: It's 1954, and up-and-coming U.S marshal Teddy Daniels(Leonardo DiCaprio) is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital. He is been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything- his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.

Characteristics of a Thriller

Characteristics of a Thriller

The thriller genre is a category of fiction concerned with tales of excitement, suspense, and high melodrama. It often overlaps with other genres of literature and film, such as crime and adventure. Characteristics of the thriller genre often include a lone protagonist or small group of people opposed by a vastly superior enemy while pursuing an overriding quest or objective.

Crime Thriller

Crime thrillers a probably the most Common ones and in my opinion the best ones too. The characteristics of crime thrillers are:
In the most cases we have something like kidnapping, murder, heists, revenge and ransoms

The trailer below of the movie Savages is a very good example for that

Trailer

Characters

We are expecting interesting persons with an unusual Character.
Often there are complicated twists between the different characters.
Some of the characters often have something misterious on them.
In the most Crime thrillers we have a "Bad Ass" Person
(like Liam Nesson in Taken )

What is a thriller ?

So this is the first post on my blog and its about the question ,, What is a thriller '' to be honest at this point of time i don't know a lot about thrillers.
But i think a thriller is a genre of literature and movies, that uses suspense and excitement as its main elements. Films of that genre have a lot of surprise, adrenaline and a bit of horror in it. I think the main aim of thrillers is to keep the audience alert and on the edge of their seats.

That's maybe wrong but i will learn a lot about thrillers in the next few months.
